What is the Weather app?

The Weather App provides users with a fast, simple, and reliable way to access real-time weather updates and forecasts for your organization’s location, based on the configured ZIP code. By offering a clean interface and accurate data, it helps users make informed decisions about their daily activities and plans.

How to use?

The Weather App has a few options when it comes to customizing your app set up:

• name → used to find the experience later in the Promotion Manager.

• experience → configured by the user:

  1. If the current mode is displayed, the user sees details like temperature, feels like, humidity, wind speed, snow, UV index, rain chance, and conditions (e.g., sunny, cloudy).

  2. If the forecast mode is displayed, the user sees a multi-day (3 days) weather summary with key metrics.

  3. If the alternating mode is displayed, it automatically switches between Current Conditions and Weather Forecast each time the app appears on screen.

• language → you can  switch the language between English and Spanish.

• duration → you can define the time the screen is shown in seconds.

How to Get Started:

To begin creating your weather experience, you can:

• Path from Content Creator flow:

  1. Open the Manager Platform.

  2. Go to the Content Creator section in the left menu.

  3. Search for the app and select Weather App.

  4. Name your instance to help you identify it later.

  5. Choose your weather settings.

  6. Select your language.

  7. Set how long you want it to display.

  8. Save this content.

  9. Configure any availability rules.

  10. Click Save and Close.

• Path from Promotion Manager flow:

  1. Open the Manager Platform.

  2. Go to the Promotion Manager section in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click the Browse Apps button.

  4. Search for the Weather App and select it.

  5. Name your instance to help identify it later.

  6. Configure your weather settings.

  7. Select your language.

  8. Set how long you want it to display.

  9. Save this content.

  10. Configure any availability rules.

  11. Click Save and Close.

FAQs

How does a weather app display a location?

Weather apps require a zip code to work; you can check this information in the General tab in the Organization Settings. 

Why doesn't my preview update when I make changes?

All options must be filled out before selecting Play in the player. You need to close the preview before making any changes to display accordingly.
